May 6, to Julian

This morning I woke up and went straight to the window to check the outdoor condition! Yikes, it was pouring, now what to do? After a little contemplation and considering that bike clothes were already on, it was a go.  How wet and cold can you get? Well, let's say, lots. Neither Diane, Judy nor I were really dressed properly and that won't happen again, we three had to buy hats and gloves at our restaurant lunch stop😔. Our ride was just over 4000 ft of climbing in about 40 miles. So we did lots of climbing. The rain stopped after lunch and the climb eased up.  It was a great day and I really enjoyed it. But some sun tomorrow would be welcome.

My one picture for today, Inspiration Point.

Fun to see, there about 5 all together both ostriches and emus.

Those ostriches eggs are really big!

Just getting ready to leave from a short stop

  1. According to the weather app, its 48º at 5:50. Oooooh! Let's hope you bet a little sun and warmth with that sun tomorrow! I saw your route map with the elevation gain and speed chart. Wow!!! I really appreciate you climbing that mountain for me while I sit in my chair watching the rain outside :-) Admiration is one of the many words that come to mind. How I admire you!!!

  2. Wow Gail, congrats for getting out there in the cold and wet. I would have bet on you being one of those who braved the conditions. Reminders of that wet day on the AC tour...can't recall the town but you got me out there and I thank you for that. Sleep well - you've earned it 😴
