Burr, so cold a start! It was close to 37 we when left from the Woodfords Inn in Markleeville. But so beautiful and what clear skys. They almost looked 3D. The first miles were, now can you guess, a climb! But once we cleared Luther Pass (elev 7,740) it was all downhill. Since it was so cold I was happy to have stored an extra jacket in the sag car for the ride down. With our ride so short we arrived Tahoe before 10:30A. We had a McD's stop for an egg Mc Muffin! On the way in to Tahoe we got to see the departure of many of the Amgen Tour cars carrying the race bikes off to their next site. Then another treat, snow! I've never ridden in the snow. It was great fun!

It looked 3D in person. |

It's hard to see the snow in this pic. |
Then Tom and Georgia (our dog) arrived for an afternoon visit! It was so nice to see them. Diane, myself and Tom had a very nice lunch while G stayed with my roommate Fiona. My bike is at a shop being cleaned and just looked over. Tonight was very special as we celebrated our guide Patty's birthday. We got to eat inside and sat at tables with tablecloths, so nice.
Tomorrow is our day off and some friends from the Cycle club are coming to visit. I'm hoping for good weather for their visit.
