May 18, Mammoth Lakes to Bridgeport

Today was a gorgeous ride! It started off with oh not a climb! As we left our hotel there was an immediate climb for 2.2 miles. I know that doesn't sound like much but it sure felt like a steep climb with those cold muscles. Then we came to the Mammonth Scenic loop and I remember thinking that it best be pretty darn scenic! I was not disappointed! Beautiful smelling pine trees with incredibly clear air and those mountains. Once more we were treated to the beauty of the mountains.
Just feast your eyes.

We saw scenery like this most of the day.

Then we did a climb to Dead Man's Summit. There could be a better name I'm sure. The elevation was 8,036 but we had started at 7,860 making this climb fine.

Now we're onto June Lake.

Oops, out of order!

Love those rules!

We're not going there!

This was our final climb.
Almost 10 miles at 6-7%.
I got to spend a lot of time with granny
(my easiest climbing gear)!

Tomorrow I may not be able to blog for 2 reasons, first there's no wifi at our Markleeville hotel and 2nd we all get to climb Monitor Pass! Stay tuned to see how that climb goes!

Did I tell you that tonite Fiona is my roomie and not only did she bring in my luggage she did my laundry?! That's so important as we won't have laundry facilities at our next two hotels including our day off!
