This is Lake Isabella just outside of Kernville.

Loved this sign as the climb was anything but easy. |
I found myself becoming fatigued around mile 30 and after a very short discussion Diane and I decided to get a 5-7 mile bump to the top of the climb.
This is sign post for the Walker Pass at the top. Also a junction for the Pacific Crest Trail. |
Two hikers heading out on the PCT.. |
A different looking Joshua tree. |
It is so nice to get in early, to have lunch, blt, take a much needed shower and do my blog.
On tomorrow's climb Diane, whom I'm always behind on the climbs, and I are going to try 1 mile rest stops. It's a longer day but with less climbing feet. It really is just great to be able to do this ride. The sags are so great and always there with water, snacks, encouragement and a lift if needed.
That heat and all that climbing makes sense to take regular stops to refuel and rehydrate. Good on you and Diane deciding to pace yourselves and treat the trip as the adventure it is. I'm in awe of you always finding the positive stuff.
